After spending time in the industry, our co-founders observed a trend shared by many small and medium-sized design companies: the only things preventing these small designers from competing on a comparable level with their big-business counterparts were the day to day inefficiencies at an operational level; there were too many mistakes and too much money wasted. A large part of the problem was the "warehousing issue." Designers were both paying obscene warehousing fees and receiving mediocre service, or worse, using rented storage units to receive and hold inventory.

But there simply weren't any other options.

At New School, we believe designers should receive immediate text message and e-mail notification of the arrival of items. They should have online access to inventory information 24 hours a day. They should be able to view invoices, view receiving reports and create delivery requests all at the click of a button. No more paying employees to meet truck drivers at storage units. No more discovering items are damaged or incorrect as they're delivered to customers.

An all-encompassing system would make these hassles and headaches a thing of the past and display the information in a comfortable, user-friendly format. The future is now the present. This is the definition of efficiency. This is New School SSI.

What are some of the ways we cater to interior designers? Every item that arrives at our warehouse is logged in with its associated description, item number, purchase order number and sidemark. You can browse your items online by shipper or arrival date. Our innovative labeling system allows you to track which receiving, storage and delivery costs are for which client or job. The ambiguity of what items should be delivered to a job is removed because you select the specific items online when you create a release request.

Add to these features the increased efficiency gleaned by not sending employees back and forth to a warehouse or storage unit, never having to wonder what specific items are in storage at a given time and only paying for the exact storage space you use and the number of days you use it.

While we've adapted our system to service other industries as well, we originally created it to fit the needs of small and medium-sized interior designers and their firms. The system does this perfectly. By solving small business problems with big business technological solutions New School allows small interior design operations to compete at the same level as the largest companies.

To put it simply ... if you're an interior designer and you aren't a New School client yet ... what are you waiting for?
